The last months have gone by in a flash. We were out living life at it fullest, working very hard and barely catching our breath! Here is to a super productive fall and tones of new adventures!
We went on short fall road trips to experience Kentucky back country.
Submerged ourselves in pumpkin mania and Halloween fun.
We were spoiled with an amazing fall harvest – and I spent days in the kitchen canning, making and baking!
We enjoyed gorgeous fall weather and took a walk or two.
We made new additions to the family – meet our bearded dragon Calissi!
And took care of our urban farm life.
We worked hard at our start-up company while balancing our 9 to 5 day jobs and exhibited at the North American Reptile Breeders Convention!
We even crammed in family fun and friends time when we thought we wouldn’t make it – because you need to make time for the good things in life! It was busy for sure!
Come and check back soon – as I will try to post more of every step of the way!
Have a good one loved ones! And don’t forget – Life is a journey!
This summer was short. It felt like it didn’t really happen. The fact that we didn’t go on vacation and that we had a lot of rain here in Kentucky – and not as hot weather as it is usual, made summer just a distant dream. And I had a really hard time with accepting it was almost over, because of it! Just that one more day of hot weather please – just one more day at a lake – just one…But then all of a sudden my calender says – FALL IS HERE! And as much as I said I wasn’t ready for it – it has started with a bang!
The weather is lovely – sunny crisp mornings, warm afternoons. The apples were early this year, so all the cannning tasks are done and I can’t wait for the leaves to start changing color! Bring it on. Roadtrips with fire pit pit-stops and cozzy talks, warm tea and sweaters, pumpkin everything and apple pie! I do love fall!
Hope you are having a beautiful first fall week! Have a lovely rest of it loved-ones! And don’t forget:
Life is a journey!
After receiving a couple of requests from you guys, I have decided to share my apple butter recipe. Some of you might know that we have had apples galore and were making everything under the sun to process as many as possible. Apple juice, apple jelly, apple sauce, apple compot, and…(drum roll) apple butter!
The warm days seem to be over and we are having our first morning frost. Still the sun has stayed with us, but we definitely need a jacket and scarf when going out. The Indian Summer did last a long time and I am very thankful for that! (more…)
Fall has slowly made its way to Louisville – quite a change for us Austrians, ’cause this time of year back home, the trees are already nacked and winter is settling in. In Kentucky the leaves are only now starting to change colors and lay out a colorful carpet in our garden. It is still quite warm as well, making the days we have needed a jacket outdoor a single digit. I am very much enjoying these late indian summer days, sucking up the sun as much as I can. (more…)
